B’nai Mitzvah
At Or Hadash, our teens become b’nai mitzvah and get to take their place as teachers of Torah and Jewish wisdom in our wider community. They study with our rabbi and education team to learn prayer, how to leyn (chant) from the Torah scroll, and develop a Tikkun Olam project that will bring their core values out into the world.
We see the process of becoming bar/bat mitzvah not just as an individual learning process, but a transition and learning period for the entire family. We also know how powerful it is to be part of a cohort of other families going through this journey together, and we make cohort learning a major part of what it means to become b’nai mitzvah at Or Hadash.
If you’re considering having a b’nai mitzvah in the next 18-24 months and you haven’t yet become part of our community, reach out to us to chat more about becoming a member.
