Adult Learning
Come learn with us! We offer both ongoing weekly learning and shorter term commitments, ranging in subject from Torah and prayer to language and culture.
In addition to our regular offerings below, other adult learning opportunities will be found in our Calendar and our Newsletter
-
Torah in the Woods
Tuesdays at Noon on Zoom, facilitated alternately by Rabbi Lauren & Dr. Amy.
The world is a complicated place, and the Torah is a magnificently complicated book, and the more life experience you have, the more you will see. Our weekly Torah study group, Torah in the Woods, is an honest, smart, accessible exploration of the parsha each week. All are welcome; no previous study of Torah or knowledge of Hebrew is required. You’ll need a Zoom password, so let us know if you are interested.
-
One Prayer Deep Dive
Tuesdays at 8am with Rabbi Lauren (following morning minyan).
If you’ve ever sat in services and wished that you could better understand just one prayer at a time before moving onto the next one, this class is for you! Join us on this prayer-by-prayer journey through the morning service, looking at just one prayer at a time. No Hebrew knowledge or prayer expertise required - just bring your questions, curiosity, and a siddur/prayerbook if you have one.
Beginning in August 2021, we’ll be studying and meditating on the book, Judaism for the World by Rabbi Dr. Arthur Green and exploring how a neo-Hasidic approach to Judaism can enhance our lives and spiritual practice. You’ll need a Zoom password, so let us know if you are interested.
