Opportunites
Chesed (Loving Kindness) is dedicated to the well-being of Or Hadash members in times of need and difficulty, in times of illness or bereavement, or celebrating milestones.
Volunteer opportunities are arranged by email and there are no committee meetings. You may participate whenever you are available, and according to your schedule. Any help is appreciated!

Cooking/Preparing Meals
Prepare meals for:
Consolation for Or Hadash families in need
Rebecca’s Tent Women’s Shelter
Organize a meal prep day to store meals (like lasagna, challah) in Or Hadash freezer for when members need.

Driving
Drive a synagogue member to a doctor’s appointment
Deliver a tray of sweets or meals to a family in need
Pick up groceries to bring to a family

Visiting
Visit the sick - hospital visits, home visits
Visit families sitting Shiva
VIsit a member who needs companionship

Making Calls & Writing Notes
Prepare notes for families in mourning
Make a phone call to a family in need of support
Write a note to a family who is celebrating a lifecycle event (wedding, birth, graduation)

Attending Synagogue Services
Recite Mi Sheberach (the prayer for healing)at Shabbat services
Attend Sunday or Tuesday minyan for Kaddish recitation
Sit with someone at services who is observing a yartzheit
