One night only - Or Hadash Sanctuary
About "Heschel's Passover Eve":
Commemorating the 50th anniversary of his passing, this solo performance explores Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel’s life, from his childhood, to memories of the Holocaust, to his relationship with Dr. Martin Luther King. In the Jewish prophetic tradition, “Heschel's Passover Eve '' is a call to action for civil discourse and human rights that is as relevant now as it was when Dr. Heschel was marching arm-in-arm with Dr. King. Learn more here. The doors open at 6:45 pm and the performance begins at 7:30 pm.
Special Guest: Yizhar Hess. Vice Chairman of the World Zionist Organization and Former CEO Masorti Movement in Israel.
Immediately following the performance Rabbi Lauren Henderson will host a Panel Discussion to do a deeper dive into the play and the application of its message in our current environment. After the Panel Discussion we will host a Meet and Greet with members of the production and Yizhar Hess.
The performance is free but donations are requested. Proceeds from the show will be donated to relief efforts for the residents of Otef Aza and Sderot who have been displaced from their homes since the October 7th attack on southern Israel. RSVP here.
