Join us in person or on Zoom to celebrate Shabbat. During Shabbat services, our entire community will be marking the holiday Sigd, a Jewish holiday preserved by the Ethiopian Jewish community that has recently become much more widely celebrated across the Jewish people. Click here to learn more about the holiday of Sigd.
During Shabbat morning services we will welcome guest speaker Dr. Beza Abebe, an Ethiopian Israeli lawyer with a specialty in human rights. Dr Abebe has worked as an advocate for Ethiopian rights in Israel, presented at Human Rights conferences around the world and is a JDC fellow. She is currently an M2 fellow where she is developing a pedagogy for authenticity in Jewish storytelling.
