This family class provides a context for the b'nai mitzvah learning process and for the big day itself, giving tweens and their parents an opportunity to think about the bigger picture questions of meaning that can sometimes get buried in the details of daily practice. We cover the topics that most frequently come up for 12 year olds as they work so closely with Jewish text and ritual: Growing up/why we have lifecycles, Torah, Tikkun Olam, God, and Prayer. All sixth graders who plan to celebrate b'nai mitzvah at Or Hadash are asked to participate, and there is no fee beyond your b'nai mitzvah fee. Click here for more information and registration.
