Art for Peace

Created by the children of Machon Hadash

As war erupted in Ukraine this winter, the children of our community sought a way to help. One of our 5th graders suggested that we raise money, and in collaboration with the Director of Lifelong Learning, this project was born.

Each piece of art is centered on the word Shalom; the older children added other teachings about peace from the Tanakh.

לֹא־יִשָּׂא גוֹי אֶל־גּוֹי חֶרֶב וְלֹא־יִלְמְדוּ עוֹד מִלְחָמָה

Isa 2:4 Nation shall not lift sword against nation; they shall never again know war.

We are asking for a donation of $18 per piece; all funds will be donated to support the people of Ukraine. To purchase one, note the image number, and then click on the picture you’d like to purchase. It will take you to a google spreadsheet where you can add your name beside that image number, and we will hold the picture for you to pick up and bill your account.
